Kelsie Temples joined our chapter "officially" in December of 2009. However, she was actually active in our chapter for the whole year, including her assistance in planning and participating in our chapter activities, particularly our two 2009 fly-ins in which she helped to serve food and took many nice photos (which are referenced in several of our NEWS pages). She jumps right in and does what needs to be done, as does husband, Glenn. We welcome Kelsie as a member and consider her a very worthy addition to our chapter. Insofar as her background, here it is in her own words:
"I am the proud wife of Glenn Temples who is building a Fly Baby aircraft. Glenn and I have been married 21 years. Over the course of those years I have been sole proprietor of a remote control airplane hobby shop for a period of 6 years, about which there is an article in the Sandlapper Magazine, Spring 1994 issue, page 45 titled "Remote Hobby". I have always liked airplanes and helicopters. When I was in the 151st Field Artillery in Sumter, SC, I would often ride in the helicopters during our summer training. I served in the US Army from 1976 to 1980, and then I joined the SC Army National Guard in 1980, in which served until 1989. I have just re-enlisted in the SC Army National Guard on Jan 7th, 2010 for 6 more years so that I will receive my retirement from the military. I love bowling, I like to put puzzles together, and I love to take pictures. I won a ride in the Red Baron Pizza Super Stearman back in the 1990's. My three favorite planes are: Stearman, Gee Bee and DC3 (like Bones at the Cheraw Airport). Cheraw is my home town."
She likes the quote:
"It is never too late to be what you might have been." by George Eliot.
It seems that she is certainly living up to that quote
Good
luck on your new endeavor, Kelsie.
